When to Go

Mild weather without extremes best typifies the climate of the north-central coast of California near Sunnyvale. Located midway between San Francisco and Monterey Bay, this region has over 300 days of sunshine per year and an average annual temperature of 70 degrees. Most evenings are cool - even in summertime - but pleasantly so. Days are neither too hot nor too cold, and most precipitation is received October through March in the form of rain. In summer, a seasonal blanket of fog often hugs the coastline and can block out the sun for days, although usually it burns off by midday. Fall is often the sunniest and warmest season, without the fog of summer or the clouds of wintertime.
